Title: October stuff
It’s been an incredible spring for us so far, with average rainfall in September and continuing grey & wet spells into October. It looks like we’ll even cut some hay for first time in years – but this sort of work is gratefully received! The best bit is that people are smiling genuine smiles, which is really uplifting.
We’ve got a few new papers this month – mainly for rabbit enthusiasts and those lucky enough to have safari pictures to scrapbook. Also suitable for those like me, have been to a zoo recently. I’m about to get stuck in to see what ‘masterpieces’ I can create! And the September sale items were so popular, we’ve left them as bargains for another month. We’ve also got new shipments of some old favourites, like ‘Farm Life’, Moo and Woof papers, and the horseshoe rhinestone brads that go so quickly! The layout below is one of our new babies, Ruby, our gorgeous little ‘red’ (ie. Chestnut) baby, who was born in July this year. Her mum is a beautiful chestnut quarter-horse called Jewel, hence her name. We used a couple of sheets of our Creative Creatures ‘watching the world go by’ paper, with some buttons turned into flowers for a cute, baby-ish look to this layout. Hope you like it!

Title: Spectacular spring sale!
It’s well & truly springtime now and all our animals are enjoying the beautiful balmy days. The horses are a little loopy with bellies full of lush spring grass!
We’ve updated the store with our spectacular spring specials, so have a look at the ‘on sale’ page for the products marked down from 20-50%. For blog readers, you can add another 5% off to the discounts with the code ‘blogreader’ at checkout. This will apply to all products across the store and is valid until 14 October 2009.
And, our new products this month, from Paperhouse Productions, including some gorgeous paper for dogs, cats, horses and rabbits and some new diecuts. The rosette diecuts are perfect if you’re working on layouts from success shows or competitions with your pets, show or working animals.
I’m off to enjoy some soft spring sun. Have a great day!

Title: Long time, no blog...
Now I can't believe it's been nearly 8 months since my last blog. I'm busy, yes, but that's no excuse. So I'm making a New Month Resolution to blog more often - my aim is [insert drumroll...] once a week! Yes, that's about 48 times what I've done in the last 8 months, but I'm quietly confident.
Have you seen our new products or the sales page for August? If not, check them out! We're planning a big Spring sale, so if you're interested, register for our monthly newsletter to hear about it from the horses mouth, so to speak. The next newsletter is due out in the first week of the September - new products, special deals for subscribers and more!
Well, until my next blog in just a few days time, here's a recent layout of Rani, the sweetest horse on the planet. Seriously...my riding coach so accurately summed it up when he said "She'd rather sit under a tree and eat ice-cream with you". I'm sure there's a layout in that...
Bye! Alison

Title: New items for February
A very belated Happy New Year to you all! I can’t believe 1/12th of the year is already gone!
I love being an “out-doorsey” kind of person, but I’m glad to be inside on a weekend like this. Near Canberra we’re only coping with 38-39 degrees, but my thoughts are with those people and animals in Victoria and SA who've had well over 40 degrees for days. I hope you, your animals and your properties are safe, especially from fire.
Well, we have some new products on the site (great excuse to be inside, sitting with the fan). We’ve mainly got new papers this month for rabbits, dogs, cats and horses. And we’ve topped up on some of our most popular papers like the double-sided tiger, zebra, giraffe, cheetah and leopard papers. Check them out on the ‘New items’ page.
I have to brave the outdoors to hang out some washing… Until next time, stay safe and hydrated.
Cheers,
Alison

Title: December already?!
Wow - I can't believe it's December already. I haven't even started my Christmas shopping! I'm trying to buy green, organic or eco-friendly presents this year and it's proving an interesting project! I've uncovered loads of really great webstores...it's really exciting to see what's out there now, so my only problem is what to give who! Decisions, decisions!
Well, you might've noticed we're celebrating the season with a Christmas theme. I've managed to find some very cute christmassy animals, but haven't had any luck with reptiles, wild animals or farm animals. Oh well, the others give you the flavour! Hope you like them!
We've got a bunch of new products this month, and even a few random specials! Check out 'new items' and 'on sale' to view these.
Our December news will come out in the next couple of days, so if you're not already registered for the newsletter, email me at admin@creativecreatures.com.au to go on the list. We then send you an email from our newsletter (at wordpress) and you just click to activate.
Did you know that you can specify another delivery address when you order with us, which makes Christmas gift giving really easy? We even wrap orders in Christmas paper and can add a special message from you.
Best be off - have a great December!
Christmas Cheers!

Title: October/ November quote
Hi everyone!
We’ve had just about every weather condition in the last few days – boiling, freezing, windy and rainy (not enough, but better than nothing!). We’ve also been lucky enough to have a couple of hours of perfect weather. Today it’s cold & windy, so me-thinks its a good scrapbooking day…
Our October/November ‘quote’ is actually a short and apparently anonymous piece of prose. It speaks volumes about our relationships with dogs, and hopefully inspires us to be better people. We’ve included it in the following layout.
“He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader.
He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.”
I actually got some advice from my photography teacher on how to take photos of photos, so hopefully this pictures is better than the last one!
If you can’t access or view it, please let me know and I’ll send you a PDF version.
Hope you enjoy!
Happy scrapping,
Alison

Title: September quote and layout
Our September quote is "Her function is to sit and be admired" (Georgina Strickland Gates). We changed it slightly because our model Bert is a he, but the sentiment is the same. Bert loves to be admired (he knows he's special!). Apologies for the amateur photography - I've worked out a better way to do it, so watch this space for more layouts and better pics!
Hope you're keeping busy- especially during school holidays!
Bye for now,
Alison =0)

Title: Creative Creatures in print!
This is a quick post to show you a picture of our advert in the July 08 edition of Scrapbook Creations magazine. It’s quite exciting to see it in print (right under 'creative party hats')! Please feel free to write in with ideas, suggestions, feedback or any thoughts you have on our site and products. I’d also love to feature some of your pet-themed scrapbook creations. Title: Welcome to my first blog!
Wow – my first blog! This is kind of daunting…
I’m going to start by saying (or should that be admitting) that I’m not the best or most creative scrapbooker. I really enjoy it and do stuff that I’m proud of, but when I look at the incredible creations in scrapbook magazines, mine don’t compare!
But…my pages are most definitely about creatures. Because I love creatures – dare I say it – great and small!
So this store is really about our love of animals and our need to scrapbook them like we do all the other important members of our families.
I’m going to dedicate the store to two very special friends I have loved and lost. Logan (my first horse, I lost tragically in 1994) and my beautiful 20yo cat Joey (passed away in 2004). I grew up with these two wonderful characters: they shaped my life and the person I am today. It’s hard not to get teary when I write about them.
So, I’ve decided to leave the creative flair and scrapbooking trends to the experts. I’m going to source quotes, sayings and poems to help you put together beautiful pages to celebrate your “fur friends” (or “feather friends” or “wool friends” or even “fin friends”).
My first quote, which also adorns the home page is by Rudyard Kipling. It says it all:
"... he will be our friend for always and always and always."
Thanks for reading – I hope you’ll check back from time to time. Because we’re constantly finding new and gorgeous animal products. If you have any special requests, please let us know.
Now, if you’ll indulge me a minute, here’s Joey & Logan. Miss you boys so much xxx.
Cheers,Alison
